SandBox agrees with Texas Governor Rick Perry.

Any AG that did not know about Fast and Furious should resign on the spot or be fired.

This kind of statement tin this article, from Attorney General Holder, was near nauseating the first time he gave a speech like this.

Hearing them repeated as more has come to light, including the fact that he has not even bothered to pick up the phone to the family of the agents we have lost is heart wrenching it is so out of line.

To hear him continue that path of denial and self-justification as he heads toward Congress winding down their investigation is infuriating.

Fire, impeach or better yet save the folks the money and have him resign immediately.

Since when does the highest law enforcement officer and prosecutor in the nation get to use legalese tactics during the course of his job?

If he was not a prosecutor as well then law enforcement discretion, maybe.

 Holder has never even bothered to pick up the phone to Brian Terry's family.

"Operation Fast and Furious was an ATF initiative to allow–indeed, encourage–the purchase of AK-47s and .50 caliber rifles by proxies (straw purchasers) for Mexican drug gangs, and then to let these guns to be taken over the border into Mexico without making any attempt to interdict or trace them, even though both the flow into and the possession of these guns in Mexico is illegal. According to the Mexican government, at last count 300 people have been murdered in Mexico as a result of the guns allowed to walk in Operation Fast and Furious. In addition, two US Federal Officers, including Border Patrol agent Brian Terry, have been murdered with Fast and Furious weapons.

Since the ATF is legally compelled to interdict straw purchases and stop the illegal flow of weapons into Mexico, Operation Fast and Furious was not just unethical and short-sighted: It was illegal. ATF and DOJ memos released earlier this year directly state that the bureaucrats and agents involved expected that there would be “collateral damage” (i.e., unnecessary deaths) as a result of Operation Fast and Furious. Thus, effectively, Operation Fast and Furious was an illegal conspiracy to aid and abet murder. The yet unanswered questions are who approved Operation Fast and Furious, and why it was approved to begin with...."

Thank you to blogger John Scotus for this post and passing forward such a revealing statement from Holder.

"This is US Attorney General Eric Holder being questioned by Senator John Cornyn regarding the murder of US Border Patrol agent Brian Terry with the use of a gun which was allowed to be sold to a Mexican drug gang in Operation Fast and Furious.

Of course Holder refuses to apologize: He is a lawyer, and so he would view such an apology as an admission of guilt.

Indeed, since Justice Department memos indicated that they expected Fast and Furious to result in “collateral damage”, an apology by Holder would in fact be very much an admission of guilt.
It is time for Holder to come clean and resign."
