Yes, 'kids'.  That probably is a reference to fans of Dave and Silt who troll from the shadows.

The observation from the local SandBox is first a noticing of how long it's been since Silt Mayor Dave Moore penned one of his targeted missives from the basement of Silt's Town Hall.

Heaven knows they really, really need a grocery store and a bank.  But this coming out in the open after so many months tucked away working on bringing things up to speed down in Silt is curious.

Could it be that Dave has begun thinking about higher political aspirations?

If there's anything that gets Silt revved up it's waving a red flag challenge in front of them.

What....in the world is Silt Mayor Dave Moore up to??

Every time we turn around, the guy gets closer and closer to shooting himself out of a cannon and rocketing to stardom.

(Let's poke some fun at Dave---he's a great sport)....'He's definitely not the best-looking Mayor on the Western Slope.  And his people skills really are non-existent.  The man has zero tact and could really care less what people think of him.'

And oh, good lord.  When it comes to politics he can be near rabid in sharing his views.  Does conservatives in the trenches proud every time he opens his mouth.  Plus, he really annoys local liberal media spin doctors and is a great read wherever he shows up.

But this.

Throwing out and starting over on all of Silt's codes?

This man should be in the White House.  Or at least in Perry's cabinet.  "We don't need no stinking badges".

Another gross underestimation by national, state and local politicians throughout America is the power of true grass roots energy. We wonder if said politicians learned anything at mid-terms.  Time will tell.

Here on The Western Slope of Colorado, mid-term elections along the west stretch of the I-70 corridor were a bloodbath. 

Determined to allow no more casual draining to their hard-earned cash flows by the 'elite' power brokers in Glenwood Springs, New Castle, Silt, Rifle and Battlement Mesa; the little guys fought hard.

And won.

One of the most colorful elections was bringing Silt Mayor Dave Moore into office.

Dave is not the smoothest talker and his people skills sometimes leave a good deal to be desired.  Come to think of it, a bit like Dubya and Perry.

No one can say that Dave Moore doesn't have enthusiasm nor can they say he doesn't get the job done.

Still slightly bruised from mortal combat, local conservatives can now look at the rapidly going up 'Silt Stoney Ridge Pavilion'  and dream of the great grass roots style music concerts ahead.

On a side note, SandBox Nanny sends a thank-you to investigative reporter John Colson for this piece.

How very nice (sincerely) it is to see Silt finally given some 'as positive as John seems to be able to give to Silt' ink.
