SandBox Comments: Aspen Daily News "Saturday night ski pass fever"

My goodness, says, SandBox Nanny.

'kids' are all up early and her cup of tea is now cold.

Usually most of the day's posting is done by now.  Yet today, she's barely made it through reading the PI and The Aspen Daily...

(sigh...rolls eyes...)

"..Can you imagine if our illegal workforce were all die-hard skiers? That would be an awesome spectacle, and a quandary of sorts. Think of the massive festive crowd at the gondola on a powder day filled with people selling burritos, listening to Mexican radio. The town would come to a complete stop. It’s already bad enough getting a fresh line after 10:30 a.m. It seems like the mountains get chewed up more quickly now on a powder day. And not to mention one beginner snowboarder can do the same damage as four expert skiers to a field of freshies...

...Do whatever it takes to get a ski pass. Make a deal with the devil. I have his number if you need it..."

Throw all those Brazilians in there with the Mexicans. Toss in a few Aussies and some Kiwis. Entire valley would shut down, construction would stop and the big money folks would go broke because none of them can afford to buy anything, they haul in their own booze and food.

LOL! Problem being it definitely would not be "uncrowded by design."

Paula and Jim Crown would prefer that "the Brazilians" that jbend refers to above would at least be Brazilianaire's. :)

That way it's still "exclusive" and all pissy up in Aspen. Plus some of the Brazilianaires take one private J1 Visa-sponsored instructor per family member! Lots of big $$$$$$$$ for Paula Crown's fountains at............ are you ready???........... the New Little Nell run Mountain Club at Snowmass.

Imagine pulling up... to the properly dressed fabulous valets [Note to self: Valets are not to be allowed to eat or bring their family to the new facility], being concierged in the proper luxury directly to the slopes....where your skis are waiting on snow with the properly dressed ski valet.

Price of exclusive, Uncrowded by Design Snowmass Mountain Club membership?

How does that work with the new Crown’s/ Skico ad campaign:

“Before Aspen, mountain was never cosmopolitan. Very few places will you find ski bums sharing cocktails with jet setters."
