SandBox Comments: Aspen Daily News/Letter to the Editor "The women of Aspen"

True grace and beauty.

Inside and out from Joann G. Grimes of Aspen and Greensboro, N.C.

This, is a time of year that quite a few women in the valley  'tolerate'.  When the 'Women of Aspen' and the 'Grande Dames' tout their accolades to the masses.

This is a lovely letter from Ms. Grimes giving her nod to some of the other women who grace our local lives daily.

Beautifully done, Joann.  And a lesson to us all.

"Editor:

I attended the Aspen Business Luncheon this past week and heard four extraordinary women speak of their various passions and successes. With an excellent moderator, I was inspired by their backgrounds, experiences and continued successes. The Roaring Fork Valley and the world are better places because of women like these.

I would like to thank another group of women in Aspen who contribute to our lives in meaningful ways.

My property manager of 11 years, Lee Bryant, former concierge at The Little Nell, started her own business, The Connected Concierge. She is intelligent, dependable, honest and a delight to work with.

My housekeeper of 11 years, Marisela Rico, has never missed a day, driving 80 miles round trip to clean our home, even during snow, ice and storms. Jessica Salet and all of the energetic volunteers at the Thrift Shop, plus all the waitresses at The Little Nell, Ajax Tavern, Pacifica, Starbucks and other establishments in town, try very hard to please their customers. All of the nurses and volunteers at the Aspen Valley Hospital who have helped us and countless others with their compassion and kindness must also be added to the list of Aspen women whom I admire and appreciate.
