SandBox Comments: Glenwood Springs Post Independent "Many US communities are blocking medical marijuana"

"More and more states are saying yes to medical marijuana. But local governments are increasingly using their laws to just say no, not in our backyard.

Marijuana Legalization said...

Yes, you are absolutely right regarding the marijuana legalization. It has been revealed that GW Pharma, a British company, is in advanced clinical trials for Sativex, the world's first pharmaceutical based on raw materials from the cannabis plant. It is hoping to see approval from the FDA by the end of 2013 and be able to market it as a treatment for cancer pain.

I'm not an advocate for the legalization of marijuana straight across the board. I do believe the medicinal properties of cannibis should be researched, developed and available through pharmacutical distribution. Forget releasing the plant itself to be smoked or ingested. Develop the technology to put its good uses into able to regulate as a controlled substance. The federal agencies are all doing what they should be in shutting down all state pot operations until the time comes when federal and state law is in sync. Even at that point, marijuana has no argument that holds merit for being legalized.
