SandBoxBlogs: Comment Spotlight: " 'hammerandnails' on "Feds may investigate collaboration between school resource officers and ICE in Colorado" "

Due to his content within his comment, albeit truthful content or not, 'SandBox Nanny' has mixed emotions in giving the highly coveted by regional avatars 'Comment Spotlight' nod to nails today.

There were two deciding factors.

The first is that 'hammerandnails'  is ranked in the top three for traffic draws on SandBox.  He is listened to and that comes from his often succinct comments.  In this comment he nails the general feeling of so many conservatives, liberals and independents in our area that 'SandBox Nanny' feels she must listen to and acknowledge his words.

The second is that the post right before this one has the words of Texas Governor Rick Perry that are closely linked to one of the points 'hammerandnails' is speaking to.

Yes, God Bless an Independent and  Free Republic.

Here's to the little guy.

'hammerandnails':
"As sad of a fact as it is, we get 100% more done out here.

As far as the liberal thing, God forbid.

Roughly 4 yrs. ago, when we all decided to burn our republican cards and go rogue, it was thanks to that sly old fox that we all can toss a retirement party for and thank her for being the singlemost catalyzing change ever in the history of 81601.

When 22 and I (sic) stood out in front of that Aspen Glen mcmansion and made up our minds on behalf of a friend, we knew it would be the politics that had to be sliced down first. Actually went up to the cabin, stood around the fire and made a ceremony out of tossing each red card in. Sometimes, waves of nostalgia still wash over each of us.

But then again, that feeling is easily gone when a body can sit back and read something like todays PI. That with record unemployment in the county, triple amounts of homeless and ten times that amount of county folks hungry and hurting, drug cartels, gangs, an unbelievable amount of waste spending in every thing from justice to admin, and either soft corruption or sheer stupidity of blind eyes looking the other way; our county GOP is only focused on the right to bear arms and personhood.

And that's even with some of our conservative own standing naked with no clothes in the thick of some of those problems.

God bless an Independent and Free Republic. "

"Unapologetically pursuing and tracking patterns within the news others make since 2010."

How about that comment of Dave Merritt in the PI today?

Less than 60 votes is what Lou Vallario won by. At least 43 of those votes are directly attributable to a few of us out here on our knees begging for them.

It wasn't Scott McInnis or the left's hit on him that lost us Scott in 2010. It was the state and county GOP ham-handed handling of Scott and him falling for that overwhelming arrogance that lost us what would have been the best governor in the history of Colorado. Garfield County GOP, with the same blind apathy they have for so many of our county and district problems have sat on the kite string of Scott McInnis for decades. Then deserted him by not standing up to him and showing him his approach was all wrong. Bruised egos and licking wounds behind the elite doors was a complete waste of time and cost us dearly here in Colorado.

We're grateful out here that we took Lou's hand and kept him in office. Unlike the republican and so-called Tea Party candidates in the current district election, we listen to our boots on the ground. Neighbors pay attention to neighbors and their fellows regardless of their political affiliation, religion or whatever the difference is. Lou Vallario is the best Sheriff we've ever had and there are many out here that do not know what we would be doing right now if he wasn't keeping all of us safe. For that kind of a man to be at the mercy of a county GOP that rides his performance but can't bring the win to the finish line is pathetic.

Garfield County GOP and the Colorado GOP can't say that they've brought any real win home for many, many years now. But they sure can say that they've built up that back-slapping good old boys club mentality they are filled with.

The best thing any of these conservative candidates can do in the current races is to start really walking their talk right now and start the process of break free. Once this round is over, go unaffiliated conservative.

Nanny, he did do good. And I did get teary eyed standing around the card burning fire. Unfortunately, I'm teared up again because there will be no living with him in this office when they get down tonight. Thanks a lot.

No reason to change my view.

The tragedy, comedy and irony of you guys is that you are conservatives.

44, I did think it over where you are concerned. I know it is a double-edged with him. The equal consideration that cancelled your sanity in the office out was the knowing that 'the' mailbox will now flood with conspiracy theorists, Paulbots and various other assorted commentators who follow nails.

In the end, he was just too good to pass up this time around.

Something you gals could do for me (finally get done for the sake of tracking his chaos and mayhem out there) is to find him on Twitter. It's been, what? 8, 10 months since suit, 22 and he started their competition for followers? Cryptic emails come in weekly taunting "Nanny" to find him.

I really have better things to do with my time. Especially now that he is in the spotlight again.

Yes, I noticed the comment from Merritt in the PI today. One would think that with all the time they have on their hands they could at least be out there stumping to bring big names into the county. Somebody needs to fire up what they've dampened.

It's not just our county gop. The problem is nationwide with no better confirmation to be seen than the gop circus in 2010 and the current presidential primary.

Good news is that even if they run a perfect campaign the left still is left with trying to re-up Nobama.

If Tancredo had been the choice on the left instead of Hick, our fumbling and completely self-absorbed narcisstic GOP could probably have managed to get Dan Maes elected with his whopping few hundred votes.

Better news is that if they don't start listening and clean themselves up with a much needed 180 at this point, the establishment conservatives will sink lower and eventually die off.

God bless America.
