"The city of Fort Collins has ceased paying the legal bills of suspended police Lt. Jim Broderick after his legal team tallied $250,000 toward his defense on felony perjury charges.
“We’ve stopped making payments,” City Manager Darin Atteberry said Wednesday, adding that a plea agreement or guilty verdict will mean Broderick must reimburse the city within 90 days. Broderick has put his home up as collateral.
Broderick has been on paid leave for two years while receiving his full salary of about $102,251 per year, according to city documents the Coloradoan obtained this week through the Colorado Open Records Act...." (Read more? Click title)
