Powderhorn as a year-round resort?
Finally! A family destination resort is coming to the Western Slope of Colorado!

"Skiers and riders can expect a new experience at Powderhorn Resort with today’s announcement that $800,000 in improvements will be made to the ski area this winter season.
This season’s improvements include: a new halfpipe, snowmaking improvements, increased grooming equipment, improved glade skiing, overhaul of Lift 1 and remodeled areas both inside and outside the Main Lodge, including a new Sunset Deck with outdoor bar and barbecue, according to a news released from Powderhorn Partners.
“Investing in the 2011-12 ski season is the first step in our multi-year capital improvement campaign,” Powderhorn Partner Andy Daly said. “We want these improvements to show the Western Slope we’re committed to their mountain and making it an even better experience season after season.”
Powderhorn is scheduled to open for the season Dec. 15..."
