Great news for the 5th Judicial District. Bruce Brown is back for another try for D.A.
"EAGLE, Colorado — An attorney in Clear Creek County is the first to throw his hat in the ring for next year's district attorney race.
Bruce Brown, of Evergreen in Clear Creek County, announced the that he will run as a Democrat for the spot of district attorney for the 5th Judicial District, encompassing Eagle, Summit, Clear Creek and Lake counties.
Brown would bring 25 years of courtroom experience and trial skills to the job. He has argued almost 100 cases before juries, he said in his announcement. That experience, he said, will help him assure that crime victims are effectively represented in court, and that criminals are held accountable for their actions.
“Victims deserve to be confident in case outcomes in the hands of a compassionate and capable prosecutor,” Brown said. “Public safety should always be our first goal.”
Brown would replace Mark Hurlbert, who is term limited. Brown lost narrowly to Hurlbert in 2004, not long after Hurlbert was appointed to the job...."
