SandBox Comments: Grand Junction Daily Sentinel "Fatal search illegal, judge rules"

Because they deserve our understanding and respect.  Because every day they put their lives on the line for each one of us.

Those are a couple of the reasons SandBox gathers stories like this one sparingly.  When our law enforcement officers get into trouble, they deserve respectful media coverage.

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

I haven't heard yet what the side of the story is that comes from the cops on this one.

That's another right in this country.

The assumption of innocence.

If this was a mistake on the part of cops or they did anything wrong then I have ever belief that they will meet justice the same as anyone else.

What's scary, especially in a few of our Colorado judicial districts is how often our prosecutors don't allow justice to even step foot in the courthouse.

If this article was a drug bust, anon, I would say your comment is out of line. Since it's not and this one is a tough one to take on both sides of the courtroom, then I have to say I agree with you.
