SandBoxBlogs: Townhall/Bob Beauprez "Consumers Voice "No-Confidence" in Obamanomics"

Bob Beauprez:
"One thing that every single American shares in common is that we are all consumers, and consumers voiced no-confidence in Obamanomics a few days before the Labor Department's jobs report.  The Consumer Confidence Index dropped to 64.9 for May, marking the third consecutive monthly decline, and still far below any hint of a return to a healthy economy.

As the following chart courtesy of Investor's Business Daily demonstrates, the American consumer has found little reason for increased optimism since the President arrogantly announced nearly three years ago that he had "rescued our economy from catastrophe" and the recovery had officially begun.  By contrast, just six months into the Reagan-era recovery from the 1981-82 recession the Consumer Confidence Index returned to 90 – indicating a "healthy economy"- and climbed even higher thereafter.

The Index hasn't been anywhere close to 90 since December 2007....."

SandBoxBlogs: Town Hall "Hopeless Change for the Young"

Bob Beauprez:
"In 2008, Obama inspired legions of young Americans who bought into his "Change you can believe in" campaign message. According to the Pew Research Center, voters under the age of 30 supported Obama over John McCain 66:31 – by far the largest disparity between young voters and other age groups in any presidential election since exit polling began in 1972. In addition to the critical vote totals, Obama attracted thousands of high energy campaign volunteers that brought unbridled enthusiasm to his campaign of Hope-and-Change.

Sadly, three years later, it is more like Hopeless Change that millions of young Americans face. In exchange for that 2:1 vote of confidence they gave Obama in 2008, the 18-29 year-olds are feeling the brunt of the economic stagnation – often by twice the degree of all other age groups. According to the Wall Street Journal, "The U.S. labor market is in a malaise, but young adults are in crisis."

Maybe you hadn't noticed, but the recession supposedly ended almost three years ago. According to the National Bureau of Economic Research, NBER, the economic downturn that began in December 2007, lasted 18 months and officially ended  in June, 2009. NBER defines a recession is a period of falling economic activity spread across the economy, lasting more than a few months, normally visible in real GDP, real income, employment, industrial production, and wholesale-retail sales. Economists declare the end of a recession when the declining trend is reversed....." (Read more?  Click title)

SandBoxBlogs: Steamboat Today "Beauprez headlines Lincoln Day Dinner fundraiser in Steamboat"

Matt Stensland:
"Former Colorado gubernatorial candidate and U.S. congressman Bob Beauprez will headline a Friday fundraiser and dinner for local Republicans.

“He talks to anybody and everybody and is a good guy and a good speaker,” said Chuck McConnell, chairman of the Routt County Republican Central Committee.

The GOP’s annual Lincoln Day Dinner fundraiser starts with a social hour at 5 p.m. at the Steamboat Springs Community Center. The barbecue dinner is at 6 p.m., and the program will begin at 6:30 p.m. The evening will include silent and live auctions. Admission is $40 for adults 23 and older and $20 for those 22 and younger.

McConnell said local Republicans have been busy in recent months designating candidates at the state, district and county levels. Now the party has its sights set on the Nov. 6 election.

“We are absolutely motivated and fired up and excited about this election cycle,” McConnell said. “We consider this to be an incredibly important campaign cycle.”

Lincoln Day dinners are held in communities throughout the country. McConnell said the dinner helps raise money for the local party, which then uses it to cover administrative costs and to provide support for local candidates. Routt County Republicans annually purchase a pig from the Routt County Fair to host a big roast for seniors. The group also has established a $500 annual scholarship for a local graduating high school student....." (Read more?  Click title)
