SandBox Comments: Vail Daily "Cordillera's bond rating downgraded"

Again, this is no surprise to anyone.  Any area resident can go back over the years worth of exposure on the whole situation up at Cordillera and easily recall that Wilhelm Family Partnership has a tremendous amount to be accountable for to the homeowners of Cordillera.

No sense rehashing the details, maybe the time has simply come for everyone to share what they know and get the mess cleaned up.

SandBox Comments: Aspen Times/Paul Nitze : "Opinion"

Prosecutor with a pen, Paul Nitze, smacks the first volley of local 'Prez Race 2012'  rhetoric over the net.

Thank you (sincerely), for relieving us of holding our breath until 2012 to see who one of our favorite local talking heads is voting for.

It's just so much more fun to extend the politics-chasing season than to scurry round and round the mulberry bush:

"...Don't hold your breath or sell your house — I'm still planning to vote for the president in 2012...."
(Paul Nitze)

Let's see if Nanny can spread Nitze's ink around to the conservative Twitter followers she has.  Help him out a bit.  Let him rack up some RT's:

"...If you're a Dem who recoils at Romney's slick-topped, pearly white, masterfully cynical brand of politics, you might just read it and think he'd do OK in the White House...."
(Paul Nitze)

"...By next fall, a date that fortuitously lines up with the general election calendar, hospitals will receive Medicare payments that are tied to the total Medicare spending on that patient from three days before the patient entered the hospital to 90 days after the patient leaves...."
(Paul Nitze)

"....Instead of running on his very real achievements in Massachusetts, and in rescuing the Salt Lake Olympics from disaster, Romney is forced to trot out lame “federalist” excuses for why he did what he did as governor. A hard-core pragmatist is trying to reinvent himself as a sword-bearer, with poor results.

You may blanch at Romney's shamelessness, but shamelessness does not necessarily make for bad presidents. Romney is a brilliant, wildly ambitious, and fundamentally pragmatic politician. We could do a lot worse. But that's not the version of Mitt Romney we're going to see next year....."

SandBox Comments: Eagle County Times "Cordillera’s $95 Million Lawsuit and the D.E.A."

'Staff' is definitely on a roll this week over on the Eagle County Times.

One of the top stories floating around the Western Slope is the ongoing drama up in Cordillera.

Most folks who follow SandBoxBlogs know we have a lot of independent conservatives on board.  Many hail from the construction industry.  The saga of Cordillera and the Wilhelm Family Partnership has been part of daily life for them for a number of years now.

Here's another perspective on the latest legal move by Wilhelm.  Brought to you by 'Trump, Bernanke and Clayton Moore'.

As if Cordillera hasn't cost the folks enough already...

SandBox Comments: Vail Daily "Cordillera Club slaps boards with $96.5 million lawsuit"

No surprise here.

The real troubles, the rifts, hard feelings and massive debt; up in Cordillera started during construction phases.

Who's really to blame in all this brouhaha?

Owner/Developers who were not only greedy but lax in operations?

Or is it the greed of the clients and homeowners who cut corners and pushed construction workers into such low-ball bids some actually went under?

Or maybe it's the bank that funded it all with wild abandon.  The same bank trying to bail on it now.

How about all sides?

Maybe they deserve living up there together now.  This will be an interesting lawsuit to watch unfold.

SandBox Comments: Eagle County Times "Cordillera Golf Club – Playing Poker with their Greens"

ECT's headliner this week is the ongoing high stakes up in Cordillera.

Everyone knows a lot of the avatars who follow SandBox are in the construction industry.

Many of them having had a great deal to do with building out Cordillera.

As the Wilhelm Family Trust has continued to do their shuck and jive dance with Cordillera Homeowners over the past year and a half; we have tossed the media reporting up here on The Box.

There are lots of 'secrets' up in Cordillera when it comes to the debt and the development goings on.

How fitting that Alpine Bank is the majority note holder for the Wilhelm Family Trust.

The bank with a lot of questionable activity spanning the past few years is suddenly trying to ditch a 'good buddy' in that good 'ol boy club of construction development.

This will be a continually unfolding story and SandBox Nanny is glad to see 'Casino Royale' and her favorite ECT guys on top of it.

SandBox Comments: Aspen Daily News/Dave Danforth "The great game"

"...But when politicians invite scrutiny and challenge the press to prove true rumors they claim to be rubbish, they can’t be surprised when the press does exactly that. Here’s what’s odd: that such politicians themselves know the reports are true and yet provoke a game, the rules of which are: Seek and ye shall find...."
