SandBoxBlogs: Summit County Citizens Voice "Morning photo: Oceans"

Where's 'SandBox Nanny'?  lol.
Between having a limited cell signal "somewhere deep in a hidden volcanic lair up in the high mountains of western Colorado" and surgery on her fractured wrist; 'SandBox Nanny' has been MIA.
Thank you so much for your emails and  text.  Shouldn't be too much longer before a directional antenna takes care of the signal problem and my hand improves and heals daily.
Let's start this very long day of blog posts off with Bob Berwyn.  Over, up and down on the Summit County Citizens Voice.

SandBoxBlogs: Summit County Citizens Voice "Morning photo: Best of May (part 1)"

All credit Bob Berwyn (Click Title):
"SUMMIT COUNTY — May was quite a month for photography. It’s always been my favorite time of year in the high country, with snow on high, greening up in the valleys, wildflowers and sometimes wild weather that makes for dramatic skies. Here are some of the best shots from May 2012. If any of these images speak to you and you’d like see it framed and hanging on your wall, leave a note in the comment section, and for more Summit County scenes, visit our Imagekind online gallery, where you can order prints, unframed or framed. The gallery even has a nifty preview function where you see how the picture looks with different mattes...."

SandBoxBlogs: Summit County Citizens Voice "Morning photo: The break of dawn"

All credit Bob Berwyn:
"SUMMIT COUNTY — There’s a moment, perhaps a few moments, right around sunrise when the light is as good as it’s ever going to get. It’s pure magic, really, and if, as a photographer, you’re in the right place when it happens, then all that you need is the technical know-how, and maybe a few good lenses. Sometimes it doesn’t always come out the way you expected, and other times, when you get home and download the images, all you can say is, “Wow!”  (See more?  Click title)

SandBoxBlogs: Summit County Citizens Voice "Morning photo: More spring!"

Bob Berwyn:
"SUMMIT COUNTY — Fall aspen season, when the leaves turn, is rightly hailed as one of the most spectacular times of year in the high country, with splashy colors and crisp air. But the spring transition, when the trees go from bare bones to flickering green in just a few days, is equally stunning, although a bit more subtle. It’s a little harder to capture the tender green of emerging aspen leaves, since the display is not quite as showy....."  (Click title)

"SUMMIT COUNTY — I love shooting in the half-light, trying to catch that moment when there’s balance. Sometimes it takes a little tweaking in the digital darkroom,  but when it comes out right, it’s worth the effort. Other times, it’s just right, straight from the camera....."

SandBoxBlogs: Summit County Citizens Voice "Morning photo: Leftovers"

How about you?

Could you look at day after day of 'repeats' of professional photographer Bob Berwyn's photos?

I could.  In fact, he has such a vast archive accumulation of 'Morning Photo' shots on his website, 'Summit County Citizens Voice' and albums in both 'RedBubble' and 'Imagekind'; we could give him a break on new output for the rest of 2012 and still be happy campers.

Support Independent Media.  These guys are out there with some of the best content on the web.  And they have to pay the rent just like you do.  Berwyn offers a wide range of options to purchase his incredible photography, including his annual calendar.

We'll take his "Leftovers" any day.

SandBoxBlogs: Summit County Citizens Voice "Morning photo: Sunrise … sunset"

"SUMMIT COUNTY — Bookending the day with some sunrise and sunset shots around Dillon reservoir. And yes, I am slightly obsessed with the iPhone, though I regretted I didn’t have my DSLR with me when the Pine Cove sunset turned fiery....." (See more?  Click title)

SandBoxBlogs: Summit County Citizens Voice "Morning photo: Around the reservoir"

(See.....we figured Berwyn was simply having some technical issues yesterday....welcome back today...)

All Credit:  Bob Berwyn
"SUMMIT COUNTY — I headed over to the beach along Dillon Dam Road for a morning walk and, what do you know — the ice is mostly melted away from that side of reservoir. Feeling curious, and trying to avoid dealing with some WordPress issues, I decided to venture a little farther than I usually do to check the status of the ice closer to the Dam itself, and since I was already across the Dam in Dillon, what the heck, why not check out the Snake River Arm. From there it was an easy decision to head over Swan Mountain Road to complete the roundtrip. All images taken with an iPhone and filtered with Instagram.

I spent quite a bit of time thinking about photographer Brad Odekirk during this short circuit around the reservoir, wondering what he would have thought of instant mobile photography … I think he would’ve enjoyed working with the iPhone....." (Read more?  Click title)
